We are very proud of our distinctive school uniform at Scoil Náisiúnta Rathain, which is worn Monday to Wednesday and when representing the school. On Thursdays and Fridays, when going swimming or playing after-school sports, students will wear the school tracksuit. The school hopes that students representing the school at special events will wear the full formal school uniform. In terms of grooming, hair should be neat and tidy, while makeup and long earrings are not permitted. The only jewellery permitted are stud earrings worn in the lower lobe of the ear and watches. To avoid confusion, children should label their uniforms, coats, and personal belongings with their names.

Scoil Náisiúnta Rathain's formal school uniform comprises of:

• Navy trousers /pinafore skirt / shorts
• Jade V-neck jumper / cardigan with school crest, available to purchase at cost price from the school
• White shirt
• Navy school tie
• Navy socks / tights
• Sensible shoes

Scoil Náisiúnta Rathain's tracksuit comprises of:  

• Navy tracksuit top with school crest, available to purchase at cost price from the school
• White Polo shirt.  
• Navy tracksuit bottoms / regular fit, knee-length shorts. Leggings or cycling shorts are not considered part of the uniform.
• Runners

From September 2023, in recognition of their birthday, pupils can wear their own clothes on the day. If a child’s birthday falls during a school holiday, weekend, or on a day where the uniform is required, they can wear their own clothes to school on the last day before, or first day after.
